Share Your Knowledge
Every seafarer has something worth passing on, whether it’s a study method that worked, an exam experience, or a lesson learned the hard way on board. If you’d like to help the next generation of seafarers, we’d be glad to publish your work on MarineWise.
Who Can Contribute?
Anyone in the maritime community: cadets, officers, engineers, ratings, instructors, and maritime students.
What You Can Share
- Exam preparation tips, notes, and strategies
- Practical explanations of topics you’ve mastered
- Experiences from life on board (ship types, watchkeeping, port operations)
- Career advice and certification guidance
- Anything else that would have helped you when you were starting out
Guidelines
- Original work only. Share your own writing and experience. Don’t copy from books, websites, or other people’s material.
- Keep it accurate. Double-check technical content. If it’s based on your personal experience, say so.
- Respect confidentiality. Don’t share company-confidential documents, internal procedures, or sensitive information about vessels, crew, or cargo.
- No names without permission. Avoid naming individuals, companies, or ships unless you have approval.
- Stay professional. Content must be respectful, with no offensive, discriminatory, or misleading material.
- Exam integrity. Share study strategies and understanding, never leaked or confidential exam papers.
How to Submit
Send your content to admin@marinewise.co with the subject line “MarineWise Submission”, including:
- Your article or content (Word, Google Doc, or plain text)
- A title
- Your name and role (e.g. “Third Officer, Tanker”), or let us know if you’d like to stay anonymous
- Any images, with permission to use them
We’ll review your submission and get back to you within a few days. We may suggest small edits for clarity before publishing.
Credit and Rights
You’ll be credited as the author unless you request otherwise. You keep ownership of your work, and by submitting it you give MarineWise permission to publish it on the website and share it on our social channels.
