A Note From the Founder
Hi, I’m Kisher Kumar, a deck cadet turned Third Officer.
I completed my cadetship with time on both an oil tanker and a gas tanker. Those twelve months taught me how different life at sea is from what the textbooks describe. I also learned how much easier the journey becomes when someone shares what they know.
After clearing my exams, I’m now preparing to join my first ship as a Third Officer. When I started, I wished there was one place with practical, honest guidance for cadets and exam candidates. MarineWise is that place.
As I begin my career as an officer, I’ll share what I learn along the way: exam strategies that worked, lessons from tanker operations, and the real experiences of life on board. And because no one person knows it all, this platform is open to every seafarer who wants to contribute.
My goal is simple: to help you walk into your exams prepared and onto your ship confident.
